Tips To Dress Up Your Guest Daybed

Naturally, everything you decorate in your home – including your guest room – will have a touch of your own personal style. That’s true whether you’ve hired a decorator or you’re the DIY type. According to incredible interior designers Laura Gaskill and Erinn Valencich, there are four great ways to dress up your daybed.

  1. A streamlined, modern daybed will look great beneath a geometric mirror and a splash of bright color. You can use vibrant throw pillows in odd shapes to create a really unique look, according to Valencich.
  2. An ordinary daybed gets an instant beach makeover when you mount oars on the wall behind it. Add a votive sitting in a seashell on the nightstand, a light blue comforter, and sheer curtains to complete the look.
  3. An open-backed daybed looks best when it’s not up against the wall, says Gaskill, and adding a pair of bolsters that match the upholstery and square pillows in a different shade can make the daybed incredibly inviting for day-to-day sitting.
  4. Pillows, pillows, pillows! A hard-backed daybed needs plenty of pillows in a range of sizes and patterns to make it look more welcoming.

Make sure there’s always a throw on your daybed, says Gaskill, because it’s all about your guests’ comfort. It doesn’t take much to turn an ordinary daybed into a great focal point of your guest room, and now that the holidays are fast approaching, you might be putting it to use sooner rather than later.
