Black and White Farmhouse – Crisp, Clean, Bold
The Decorologist, a Nashville-based color expert, says black is one of the top three colors which most appeal to men, while women want every room to have a dash of it. But, why is the black and white contrasting farmhouse so very popular?
White often represents innocence and new beginnings while black can be seen as sophisticated, luxurious and confident. Elle Décor says, “a black and white palette is timeless and classic, with endless possibilities.”
Placed together, these juxtaposed colors woven throughout a home are so pleasing to eye.
Check out these photos for proof! (Note, we will share paint color and sources when possible. Many of the pretty elements have been owner supplied and information not available nor is the floor plan. Thanks in advance!)
Farmhouse Exterior
A wrap around front porch greets visitors to this beautiful home on an acre plus home site. The homeowner has carved the porch into three separate sitting areas surrounding the striking entry doors.
Gentlemen’s Lounge
Upon entering the home, sliding Tennessee Barn Doors repeat the SW Tricorn Black color providing an elegant entrance with a gold handle.
Outfitted with comfortable furniture and plenty of “entertainment,” the room is a perfect gathering spot.
Home Office
As you can see from the generous amount of shelving, this room is organized for work but with plenty of style!
The downstairs powder room has so much charm!
Gourmet Kitchen
The gourmet kitchen is stylish with multiple areas for meals, homework and entertaining. The room is open to the dining area and living room – a great example of open concept living.
